Labtiva had scientists in mind when it came up with ReadCube. The developer’s aim was to come up with a properly good tool that will help scientists efficiently organize and find scientific papers. I am glad to say that Labtiva brilliantly reached this goal. As ReadCube’s development moved forward, the academic software tool got innovative new features that made it an invaluable tool.

ReadCube is available for Microsoft’s Windows operating system and for Apple’s Mac OS X. You can use the application on a PC powered by anything from Windows Vista up to Windows 8. And you can use the application on a Mac powered by anything from 10.6 Snow Leopard onward.

A simple setup wizard will help you install ReadCube on your PC. First up, the wizard will ask you to choose if you want a desktop shortcut, pick if you want to start the application after installation, and select the installation location. Then the wizard will ask you to create a new account or sign in to an existing account.

When the installation process is done and you launch ReadCube for the first time, you will be presented with an introductory video that provides useful information on how to use the application. Speaking about that, you will also be invited to enable tips – a series of useful hints and tips will be displayed as you explore ReadCube’s features.

ReadCube will help you save time, will help you be organized, and will help you discover relevant content. By automatically organizing your PDFs, by automatically searching for and extracting citation information, and by quickly downloading related articles, ReadCube will help you save time. By providing a central location for all your PDFs, by providing useful search functionality, by letting you highlight important bits and create sticky notes, ReadCube helps you be organized. And last but not least, by recommending relevant articles on a daily basis, ReadCube will help you discover interesting new things.

ReadCube is freeware.

Keep your papers organized, easily search within your papers, get personalized recommendations and download articles – all this wonderful functionality is offered by ReadCube.
